We take every aspect of your personal profile into consideration when calculating your admissions chances.
We welcome short personal essays or statements to help us better understand your desire to attend MIAD, as well as your skills, talent and background. You may write your own statement, or consider using one of the following prompts. Essays or statements may also be sent to your admissions counselor separate from the application.
What do you think you could contribute to the culture of MIAD?
Choose an artist or designer to spend a day with and tell us who you would choose and why. What would you do? Give us insight into your conversation.
Tell us about an experience showing your work to others. How did you handle praise and criticism? How did you feel? What did you learn from the experience?
When did you realize art or design was something that you wanted to pursue? Was there an ‘aha’ moment or a slow build?
How does your art interact with the world? Or how would you like it to interact? Personal statements may also be sent to your admissions counselor separate from the application.
