Messiah University is an educational community profoundly committed to worshipping, loving and serving God. The University’s motto, “Christ Preeminent,” points to our community’s full, rich shared understanding of Jesus Christ and how the Christian faith is relevant to every dimension of life. At Messiah we’re committed to personal faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sin and to pursuing the exemplary nature of Christ's life as a model for our own lives. This common Christian conviction shapes every aspect of students’ experiences in the Messiah community.

Located in Lithuania, this program offers a wide variety of courses for students to take, specifically general education courses, Bible classes, economics classes, English classes, and various social science courses. All courses are taught in English, and students also get to participate in many excursions to countries like Russia, Latvia, and Estonia.
This program is especially popular for those who have a major or minor in Spanish language. Spending a semester in southern Spain, students will be able to take classes in both English and Spanish, have the option to live with a host family, and participate in educational excursions to places such as Madrid, Cordoba, and Morocco.
Messiah students and families experience two meaningful candlelight worship services—one at the end of first-year move-in and one at Baccalaureate the night before Commencement. These powerful ceremonies are a meaningful way to bookend your time at Messiah—and to reflect on all that God has done in your life.
The women gear up for a fun football game while the men take on the role as cheerleaders in this fun Homecoming tradition. The competition pits seniors against first-years and sophomores against juniors.
Each spring, Messiah hosts Service Day where students and employees have a day off and serve together as a campus community. This is done either as a volunteer for Special Olympics (hosted on our campus) or with any one of many outreach opportunities throughout the local area.
Before the Homecoming soccer games, students are given white (free!) T-shirts. The spirited crowd—dressed in white and led by a bagpiper—marches across the Covered Bridge to the soccer field where they inspire Falcon fans to cheer on the big game!
Messiah has a reputation for great music. We bring a variety of artists representing diverse genres to campus each semester, and students enjoy free B-Sides concerts featuring up-and-coming artists on Wednesday nights. Throughout the semester, the Student Activities Board (SAB) and other groups offer bigger-name shows—like Unspoken, CROWDER, Mat Kearney, Twenty-One Pilots, August Burns Red, Magic! and Needtobreathe. Of course, students can also show off their musical talents at our widely popular Coffeehouse events or as part of the Powerhouse worship team.
